The 41st Annual Newark Mile 4k : 2026
The Newark Mile is a chip-timed road race and walk held along the Newark Days parade route. The event uses the traditional 2.5 mile course, listed as 4k (2.5 mile), with the start and finish located at the intersection of Chapman and Cedar in front of the Newark Community Center at 35501 Cedar Blvd., Newark, CA.
The course runs eastbound on Cedar Blvd with a leftward U turn near Lake Blvd, continues onto Newark Blvd with a left turn and a second U turn near Musick Ave, and returns to eastbound Cedar Blvd for the finish. The race is presented in partnership with Newark Days and organized by the CXC4L Alumni Association. It is a USATF sanctioned event.
Early packet pick up is available in front of the Newark Community Center on the weekend before the race. On race day participants pick up bibs, timing chips, and T-shirts at the check-in table near Cedar Blvd and Chapman Dr. Portable restrooms are provided near the community center. Parking on Newark Days lots is not available due to street closures; participants and spectators are advised to use nearby residential streets or walk or bike if they live locally.
The event includes the Newark Mile 4kids, an approximately 50 meter free race for young children, and awards across defined age groups with finisher medals for all participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
