Newark Half Marathon

The Newark Half Marathon is a historic road race dating back to 1982. The event takes place on Sunday in August, utilizing fully closed roads to provide a safe environment for all participants. The course starts on Hawton Road and leads runners out of Newark and through the quiet country roads surrounding Hawton and Cotham. The route concludes with a finish located in Sconce and Devon Park.

Participants compete on a single lap course designed for maintaining a consistent pace. The event features an organized village with various food and drink options for attendees. The race is held in support of Beaumond House Hospice, which provides palliative care services in the Newark and Sherwood area.

Available distances:

  • Half Marathon (approx. 21.1 km)

The race includes professional chip-timing for accurate results and distance flags marking every kilometre along the route. Participants receive a unique themed medal and post-race refreshments upon finishing. Official race photography is provided during the event. Optional event t-shirts featuring the race logo are available for purchase during the registration process. Marshals are positioned throughout the course to provide guidance to the runners.
