Canyon of the Eagles New Year Trail Challenge 100K
The event takes place 01/01/2027 to 01/02/2027 at 16942 Ranch Road 2341, Burnet, Texas, in the Canyon of the Eagles area. It comprises multiple looped trail races that run through limestone bluffs, wooded trails and sections with Colorado River views.
Distances offered include:
- 62.2 miles (100K)
- 31.1 miles (50K)
- 15.5 miles (25K)
- 13.1 miles (half marathon)
- 10K
- 5K
The 100K and 50K use a looped course with reported elevation of about 512 ft gain and 531 ft loss per loop and a 24 hour cutoff. The 25K has a reported 15.5 mile loop and a 12 hour cutoff. Looped half marathon and 25K routes are described as highlighting river views and gentle inclines.
Several ruck divisions are available. Weight requirements are specified by division and verified at controls: for the 13.1M and 25K ruck division the minimum is 20 lb for participants under 150 lb and 30 lb for participants over 150 lb, with weights checked at start and finish. Separate event notes list ruck minimums for some shorter events as men 20 lb and women 10 lb and state that weight checks may occur during longer courses. Required ruck gear notes include reflective elements, hydration systems and appropriate trail footwear.
