Mosaic Trail Race
Mosaic Trail Race is a multi-distance trail running event held at Canyon of the Eagles on the north shore of Lake Buchanan in Burnet, Texas. The event date is December 5, 2026. The race hub and packet pickup are located at the park near the lake pier and swimming area.
Distances offered:
- 50K
- 26.2 mi
- 13.1 mi
- 10K
- 5K
- Youth 1 mi
Course format and terrain: the routes share a main loop with distance-specific shortcuts. The 50K uses three roughly 10.3 mile laps; the 26.2 mile distance uses four 6.55 mile laps; the half marathon uses two 6.55 mile laps; the 10K and 5K each run a single lap. The park features typical Texas Hill Country terrain including jeep roads, singletrack, hard-packed dirt, rocks, creek beds, bluffs, ravines, cacti, climbs and descents.
Course safety and services: markings include orange caution tape, yellow arrow signs, and many confidence markers, with reflectors for low light. Full aid stations are placed so runners never need more than about 3.5 miles of water or fuel at a time and provide snacks, fruit, sandwiches, soda, water, ice, and sponsor products. The event is cupless; participants must carry a cup or bottle. Drop bag service is not provided beyond the race hub.
Timing and rules: all races are chip timed with ankle chips; pacers are not allowed. Littering can lead to disqualification and the event follows Leave No Trace principles. Youth runners have an untimed one mile course with a bib and finisher medal, and registrants 19 and under receive an automatic discount for races ten miles and shorter. Camping and RV sites are available at the park and the park charges an access fee that is covered for registered racers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
