Asheville Hot Chocolate Races
The Asheville Hot Chocolate Races are a winter running event held in Asheville, North Carolina, celebrating their 19th year in 2027. The event starts and finishes at Isaac Dickson Elementary School, 125 Hill St, Asheville, NC 28801. The course features a downhill start and an uphill finish, with the main portion running along the French Broad River.
Distances offered include:
- 10K chip timed
- 5K chip timed
- 1K Hill Climb untimed kids fun run
- Marshmallow Dash untimed kids fun run
Proceeds benefit the Isaac Dickson Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, which supports teachers, students, and families at the school. A post race party is held in the school gymnasium with music, local sponsors and vendors, snacks, and hot chocolate made with premium chocolate from French Broad Chocolates.
In the event of inclement weather, the event may be postponed to 1/30/27 or 2/6/27 at the race director's discretion. There are no refunds if the event is postponed to either of those dates. Organizers permit all three dates to allow a postponement option regardless of timing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
