New Year's Eve Loop-the-Lake Run
The New Year's Eve Loop-the-Lake Run is a fun run and walk event held at White Rock Lake in Dallas. This event marks its 23rd occurrence and takes place at the Filter Building. All proceeds from the registration fees benefit the nonprofit organization Marathon Kids, which focuses on youth physical activity and evidence-based health programs for children.
The main course consists of a 15K (9.3 miles) loop around White Rock Lake. Participants have the flexibility to run or walk any distance they choose during the event. The gathering serves as a community celebration to conclude the year.
Registered participants receive a swag bag upon check-in and are entered into a raffle for various prizes. The foundation organizing the run has operated since 2004, evolving from a small group of runners into a long-standing city tradition. The event supports a cause that encourages children of all fitness levels to set goals and remain active throughout the year.
