New Windsor Rodeo Run
The New Windsor Rodeo Run is a long-standing community athletic event reaching its 37th year. Held in Windsor, Illinois, the race is organized by the New Windsor Fair & Rodeo Associates. The event features multiple distance options on a course that utilizes blacktop streets. The routes are designed as out-and-back paths, with the start and finish lines located at the east entrance of the rodeo grounds.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 4 Mile Run
- 2 Mile Run/Walk
- Untimed Kids Fun Run (Ages 10 and under)
For those participating in the 4 Mile event, water stations are positioned at the 1-mile and 3-mile markers. Mile splits are also provided to runners throughout the course. The Kids Fun Run takes place following the conclusion of the longer distance events, and every child who finishes the run receives a ribbon.
Timing and scoring for the timed events are handled by ShaZam Racing. Awards are presented during a ceremony following the races. Top overall male and female finishers in both the 2 Mile and 4 Mile events are recognized based on gun time. Additionally, the top two finishers in various age categories, ranging from youth to participants aged 70 and over, receive awards based on net time.
