Event Overview
The Run for Hope is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Coal Valley, Illinois. It takes place at 302 1st St, known as The Rock Coal Valley. This is the event's second year at this location.
Events and Distances
The event offers several participation options:
- A 5K run/walk, with separate pricing for participants aged 16+ and youth 15 and under.
- A 1 Mile Family Fun Run, also with separate pricing for ages 16+ and 15 and under.
- A "Sleep-In/Chip-In" option, which provides a race shirt only.
Event Theme and Features
The run is dedicated to honoring and celebrating community members impacted by cancer. Participants can personalize their race bibs to show who they are running for. There is an option to honor a loved one with a personalized yard sign placed along the route; these signs can be collected and kept after the race.
A special "Purina Doggy Dash" allows participants to run with their dog, and dogs receive a commemorative bandana for an additional fee.
Awards
Awards are presented for the overall men's and women's champions in the 5K, as well as for the top male and female survivor champions in the 5K. Age group awards are given in 5-year increments for both men and women, from 14 to 75 years old. Additional awards are given for the largest family team and the largest corporate team.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on two days prior to the race at locations in Moline, Illinois, and Davenport, Iowa. On race day, packet pickup begins at 7:00 a.m. at the event venue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
