New Milford Parks & Recreation Road Race : July 25, 2026
This community road race event takes place on the New Milford Town Green in New Milford, CT. The program includes multiple distances and a separate youth race on the same day.
Event distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 8 Mile (8 miles)
- Kids Run the Green, quarter mile (ages 8 and under)
The 5K is presented in its 23rd year, the 8 Mile in its 58th year, and the Kids Run the Green in its 4th year. Course descriptions note rolling hills, rural roads, and a notable climb at Canterbury Hill. Water stops are available along both adult routes. A post race ceremony is scheduled at the bandstand on the Town Green.
Registration opens May 1. Standard entry is $30 through July 19; the fee increases beginning July 20. Registration is also available at New Milford Parks & Recreation, 2 Pickett District Road. T shirts are guaranteed to the first 300 registered runners, with sizes not guaranteed. Monetary awards will be mailed to the address on file. Race day registration is offered, and the event welcomes runners, walkers, and dogs.
The Kids Run the Green has a $5 entry fee, includes an event t shirt and a participation award, and is limited to 50 participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
