New Haven Fun Run
The New Haven Fun Run is a community running event held on May 2, 2026, at the James Logan High School track in Union City, California. It is organized by the New Haven Schools Foundation to raise funds for education enhancement and scholarships for New Haven Unified School District students.
The event program includes several race options:
- 5K Fun Run/Walk chip-timed, open to ages 1 to 99.
- Kids' Races for Grades K-8.
- Paralympian / Special Olympian 100 meters for ages 3 and up.
Early registrations guarantee event apparel and giveaways if completed by April 12. Specifically, 5K early registrants are guaranteed a T-shirt and swag bag, and kids race early registrants are guaranteed a T-shirt. Registrations for the Paralympian / Special Olympian event are sponsored by Mission Valley Track and Field.
The 5K has historically attracted both serious runners and recreational participants, including walkers and people with baby strollers. For participant organization, more competitive runners are positioned near the starting line ahead of more casual participants. Dogs are not permitted this year due to the event's proximity to New Haven Day.
