Neptune’s Race 8K
The Neptune's 8K Race is an event held in Virginia Beach on September 26, 2026. The main event is an 8K race. There is also a Kids Crab Crawler event.
The course runs along Atlantic Avenue, providing ocean views. The start is near Neptune's Park at 31st Street, heading north to 37th Street. The route then goes south, around Rudee Loop, and finishes at 30th Street. The course is described as fast and flat.
All participants in the 8K receive a Neptune Festival T-shirt, a finisher medal, course entertainment, and one ticket to Neptune’s International Sandsculpting Championship. A post-race party takes place in Neptune's Park (31st Street Park), with pizza, beer, hard seltzer, non-alcoholic beverages, and a DJ.
Awards are announced for the top three male, female, and overall finishers. All other awards are mailed after the event.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Smartmouth Pilot House on 32nd Street, and also on race morning at 31st Street Park.
The event is part of a larger Boardwalk Weekend festival that includes an art and craft show, a sand sculpting championship, a grand parade, over 20 free concerts, a beach yoga and fitness experience, and a family fun zone. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
