Neptune’s 8K Race
Neptune’s 8K Race is a road race on Atlantic Avenue at the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The route begins outside Neptune's Park at 31st Street, runs north on Atlantic Avenue, turns at 37th Street, continues south around Rudee Loop, and returns north to finish near 30th Street. The course is described as fast and flat and passes oceanfront views.

Each registered runner receives a Neptune Festival T-shirt and a Neptune’s 8K finisher medal. The event includes course entertainment, one ticket to the International Sandsculpting Championship, and a post race party in 31st Street Park that features pizza, beer, hard seltzer, non-alcoholic beverages, and a DJ. Top three awards for male, female, and overall are announced at the post race party; other awards are mailed after course certification.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Smartmouth Pilot House and on race day at 31st Street Park. An ID check is required to receive an alcohol wristband during packet pickup or on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
