Neptune’s 8K Race - Overview
Neptune’s 8K Race takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in Virginia Beach, VA (3001 Atlantic Ave, zip 23451). The event includes the following distances and entry fees:

The 8K course is described as fast and flat and offers ocean views. The listed race website provides additional event information. The 8K route begins on Atlantic Avenue outside Neptune's Park at 31st Street, runs north to 37th Street, turns and runs south around Rudee Loop, then returns north to finish at 30th Street. The finish area and post-race activities are at Neptune's Park at 31st Street.
Logistics and amenities
Packet pickup is available Friday, September 25 (3:00pm-8:00pm) at Smartmouth Pilot House, 313 32nd Street, and Saturday, September 26 (6:30am-7:30am) at 31st Street Park, 31st Street & Atlantic Avenue. Each registered runner receives a Neptune Festival T-shirt, a finisher medal, course entertainment, one ticket to the Neptune’s International Sandsculpting Championship, and access to a post-race party at 31st Street Park that includes pizza, beer, hard seltzer, non-alcoholic beverages, and a DJ.
