Neptune Fire Company 5K
The Neptune Fire Company 5K is an athletic event held in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, hosted at 1701 Lincoln Avenue. This event supports the Neptune Fire Company, a volunteer organization that has served the community for over 150 years. The activities take place around the fire station, which serves as both the starting and finishing point for the participants.
Participants can choose from several categories based on distance and eligibility:
- 3.1 Miles (General registration for runners and students)
- 3.1 Miles (Walker only division)
- 3.1 Miles (Firefighter division for those in full PPE gear)
- 3.1 Miles (First Responder division)
- Kids Bucket Brigade Sprint (50-100 meter dash for children 9 and under)
The First Responder division is open to a variety of professionals, including firefighters, law enforcement, medical personnel, utility workers, and public health professionals. For younger participants, specific categories are available for students aged 18 and under, alongside the short-distance sprint for children.
The event grounds feature local food trucks and additional activities such as a 50/50 raffle and a basket raffle. Participants who register by the designated early deadline are guaranteed a short sleeve shirt. Race day services include a check-in area and a goodie bag for registered participants.
