Nelson Police Memorial Run/Walk
The Nelson Police Memorial Run/Walk is a community event held in Nelson, British Columbia, based at Lakeside Park. This event serves as a tribute to Detective Wade Tittemore and Constable Mathieu Nolet. Proceeds from the registration fees contribute to a scholarship fund established in their names for a student at LV Rogers.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 10 km Run: This course features rolling hills and concludes with a fast, flat finish. It is a chip-timed event.
- 5 km Run/Walk: A route designed for both runners and walkers that proceeds along the waterfront.
- 1 km Kids Fun Run: A short distance specifically organized for children.
Registration for the event includes a t-shirt and a finishing medal for participants. The pricing structure is tiered, offering early bird, regular, and late registration rates between January and September. All activities are centered around Lakeside Park, utilizing the local landscape and waterfront areas for the various race segments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
