Movement is Medicine presents the Elephant Mountain Challenge in Nelson, British Columbia. The spectacular 16-kilometre route begins at the Lions Bluff trailhead, climbs about 1200 metres to the CBC tower, then traverses Elephant Mountain before descending past Flagpole and Pulpit Rock to Johnstone Road. The course finishes with a run across the Orange Bridge into Lakeside Park, combining roughly 13 kilometres of well-marked trail with 3 kilometres of road.
A checkpoint between Flagpole and the CBC tower provides basic first aid. The event welcomes fast hikers and runners and emphasizes a challenging, scenic route suitable for those seeking an endurance test. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
