Light at the End of the Tunnel Marathon and Half
The event is a point-to-point marathon and half-marathon running from Snoqualmie Pass to North Bend, Washington. The route passes through a dark tunnel, offers mountain and waterfall views, and descends just over 2,000 feet from a low starting elevation. The course is USATF Boston certified (WA21010RMB) and is routed to produce consistently fast times because of the steady downhill grade.

Historically the original Tunnel course produced a high Boston-qualification rate, with roughly 40% of finishers earning a Boston qualifying time. Recorded course bests are male 2:25:01 (2024) and female 2:42:46 (2022). The event has been offered in multiple months; 2026 season dates listed are June 7, August 9, and September 13.
For 2026 the original course is not permitted after storm damage to trail sections. Organizers are working with permitting agencies to develop an alternate route, but Washington State Parks has not confirmed whether any alternate courses will be allowed. Registration is temporarily paused while course details and permits are finalized; organizers aim to have an approved alternate course and registration ready by February 1, 2026.
