Light at the End of the Tunnel Marathon and Half: June 7, 2026
Light at the End of the Tunnel Marathon and Half is a road and trail running event in Snoqualmie Pass, Washington. The race passes through the historic Snoqualmie Tunnel and finishes amid mountain views and waterfalls on a smooth rail trail.
The 2026 event follows an alternate, fully permitted route because of recent storm damage. The revised course remains fast and scenic, features approximately 1,000 feet of net elevation drop for both the marathon and the half, and is USATF certified. The marathon distance is eligible for Boston qualification. The 2026 finish differs from the traditional course but keeps a downhill, packed gravel surface.
Course surface is packed gravel so road or light trail shoes are commonly used. Headlamps are required for passage through the tunnel. Aid stations are placed every 2 to 3 miles and provide water, electrolytes, first aid, and Honey Stinger gels at select locations. After the finish at Garcia Trailhead, runners walk about one mile down Forest Service Road 9020 to shuttle buses that return participants to Hyak Sno Park.
Registration opens February 13, 2026 and closes June 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Registration includes professional chip timing, a custom bib, a finisher shirt and medal, post race food, and shuttle transportation back to Hyak Sno Park.
