NC Seafood Festival Twin Bridges Race
The NC Seafood Festival Twin Bridges Race is a certified 8K running course held as part of the festival in Beaufort and Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. The route begins at the NOAA Laboratory in Beaufort, crosses the Morehead City Bridge, passes through historic downtown Morehead City, crosses the Atlantic Beach Bridge, and finishes on the Atlantic Beach Causeway with coastal views along the Crystal Coast.
Event logistics note that participants may park at the Atlantic Beach Causeway shopping center and be transported to the start; vehicles are not permitted on Pivers Island. If participants are dropped off, they must dismount at the intersection of State Road 105 and Pivers Island Road and walk 0.25 mile to the start area. All participants receive a certificate with their final time.
Awards include medals and trophies for the overall top male and female, plus medals for the top male and female in each age category. Age divisions are: 18 and under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Registration opens March 14. Registration fee tiers for the 8K are $45 through August 31, $55 through September 30, and $60 on race day. Participant giveaways include a Twin Bridges T-shirt and a Twin Bridges oyster knife. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
