Run Around the Lake - Ronkonkoma 2027
This community fundraiser in Ronkonkoma is organized by the local Rotary and honors a Navy SEAL and other service members while raising support for veterans. The event offers both in-person and virtual participation and includes multiple distances.

Event logistics and amenities include packet pickup at St. Joseph's Church in Ronkonkoma in the days before the race, and race day bib pickup near Easton Street and Railroad Avenue. Event parking is at the Ronkonkoma Train Station South Parking Lot and shuttle buses transport participants and spectators to the start area; strollers are not permitted on the buses.
Participant amenities listed by the organizer include post-race BBQ and beer, a pasta dinner at St. Joseph's, participant t-shirts and dog tags for all in-person and virtual entrants, a finisher medal for half marathon finishers, and a Murphy beer mug for the first 250 in-person registrants for the 4M and half marathon. A bag drop will be available at the common start line; the Rotary does not assume responsibility for unclaimed items.
Course support details: porta potties approximately every 1.5 miles, water stations every 1 mile, and two electrolyte stops on each half marathon loop. The half marathon is run over three loops. Photographs and virtual upload windows are provided after the event, and some race swag ships prior to race day.
Awards are given across overall, veteran, age group, masters, wheelchair, and team categories, plus a commemorative award for a specific finishing position. Beneficiaries include veteran-focused organizations and local groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
