Navy SEAL LT Michael P Murphy Run Around the Lake
This Ronkonkoma road running event features multiple distances and raises funds for veterans and related organizations. The event includes in-person and virtual options, with photos, online results and finisher certificates available to participants.

Course provisions include porta potties approximately every 1.5 miles and water stations about every 1 mile. Half marathoners complete three loops and have two electrolyte stops per loop. A bag drop is available at the common start line; the organizing Rotary group does not accept responsibility for unclaimed items.
Event parking and day-of bib pickup are located at the Ronkonkoma Train Station South Parking Lot. Shuttle buses run between the parking area and the start area; the bus company policy does not allow strollers on the shuttle. Pre-race bib pickup takes place at St. Joseph’s Church gym, and a pasta dinner is held in Carew Hall at the church.
Participant amenities include a post-event BBQ and beer, participant shirts and dog tags for all 4 Mile and Half Marathon entrants, a Murphy beer mug for the first 250 in-person 4M and half marathon registrants, and a finisher medal for half marathoners. Virtual participants may upload photos and submit a finisher time.
Awards recognize overall top finishers, veterans, age groups, masters, wheelchair competitors, teams, and other special categories. Beneficiaries include the Murph Foundation, Lone Survivor Foundation, Ronkonkoma Rotary and the Murph SEAL Museum. Registration is not yet open.
