Beat The Bounds, Patterdale is an annual outdoor event in Patterdale, Cumbria, following the historic parish boundary. The event offers multiple route options that use high-level fell and mountain terrain and include significant ascent. Entry fees support Patterdale C of E Primary School and St Patrick's Church, with the fee treated as a donation split equally between them. Entry is made through the SiEntries system.
Routes, entries and on-course services
- Full Boundary - 28 miles, 10,200 ft ascent
- 1st Half - 16 miles, 6,500 ft ascent
- 2nd Half - 14 miles, 3,500 ft ascent
- Family/Solo Downhill - 6 miles (downhill via Hartsop Hall)
Routes start or finish at locations such as Patterdale School and Kirkstone Pass Summit. Public transport links are available between Patterdale School and Kirkstone Pass. Participants receive a tracker, a bespoke race number, checkpoint food and drinks at Kirkstone, and finishers soup and cake. Cut-off times will be applied at Kirkstone Pass and Boredale Hause to help ensure participant safety. There is a 100% discount for Patterdale parish residents and a £5 discount for Long Distance Walking Association members on the Full Boundary entry.
