Nashville Women's Triathlon : event details
The Nashville Women's Triathlon takes place at Centennial Park in Nashville, Tennessee, with race staging adjacent to the Parthenon and the transition area on the Great Lawn. The swim uses a 50 meter indoor pool with an interval start; racers enter one at a time in race-number order. The pool exit leads about 0.15 miles on pavement to the transition area and a shoe staging area is provided.
Distances offered:
- Super Sprint: Swim 100 m, Bike 8k, Run 2k
- Sprint: Swim 200 m, Bike 15k, Run 4k
The bike courses leave Centennial Park for an urban tour through Midtown, Sylvan Park and Sylvan Heights. The Sprint course is two loops and includes a mix of flat sections, moderate climbs and some downhill segments. Police will control intersections; some streets have bike lanes, others are shared with traffic. A BIKE MOUNT and DISMOUNT LINE is used; participants walk their bike across this line to begin and end the bike segment.
The run is a completely flat loop on Centennial Greenway paths and walkways, finishing adjacent to the Parthenon and the transition area. Race options include full triathlon, swim-bike, bike-run, aquabike and 2 or 3 person relay teams.
The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and follows USAT wetsuit and competition rules. Wetsuit allowances depend on water temperature: legal up to 78°F, discretionary without awards between greater than 78°F and less than 84°F, and prohibited at 84°F or higher. Timing uses disposable ankle chip bands; the ankle band is to be worn on the left ankle. Photo ID and individual packet pick up are required.
