Narrowleaf Lake Run
Narrowleaf Lake Run takes place at Boyd Lake State Park on October 31, 2026. The event includes multiple distance options, a 1 mile Pumpkin Run where athletes may carry a pumpkin, and a Kids Fun Run with 1/2 mile and 1 mile options. This is the seventh annual running of the event. The race is USATF sanctioned and organized as a 100% plant based event.
Distances offered:
- 1 Mile Pumpkin Run
- Heavy 5K (4 Mile)
- Heavy 10K (7 Mile)
- Heavy 15K (10 Mile)
- Kids Fun Run (1/2 Mile and 1 Mile)
The course uses wide, well maintained paved walkways with about a half mile of off-road surface on the south loop. Runners will see lake and wildlife views along most of the route, with almost no elevation gain. There is no vehicle traffic on the course and the route is marked with aid stations that provide water, electrolyte drink, snacks and gel-packs; cups are biodegradable. Aid station placement varies by distance, with repeated passes of the south #1 aid station on the longer courses. All aid stations will include water bowls for dogs.
Parking is provided in two large lots within a short walk of the start and finish areas; attendees who pick up bibs on race day should have proof of entry available for park staff. Registered runners receive an event shirt, finisher medal, race bib, free event photos, post race food & drinks, and professional chip timing. Athletes are responsible for knowing course routes; maps and detailed routing are provided by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
