Naples Youth Corp Run
The Naples Youth Corp 5k/10k Run is an annual community event entering its sixth year. Based at 9 Academy St in Naples, New York, the race takes place on the property north of Academy Street, across from Naples High School. The event functions as the primary fundraiser for the Naples Youth Corporation, an organization dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for local youth to engage in education and recreation.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5k Run/Walk)
- 6.2 Miles (10k Run)
The 6.2 Miles course includes a specific section known as the Mt. Misery loop. The event is held regardless of weather conditions, including wind, rain, or snow. A team category is available for groups of five participants, with a prize awarded to the fastest team.
In addition to the main races, the event includes a Kid's Dash for younger participants. This involves two waves: one for children aged 2 to 5 and a second for those aged 6 to 10. These waves cover a short distance and do not require formal registration.
The venue features a recently constructed outdoor stage used for music and announcements. Available amenities include cotton shirts for youth participants and performance tech race shirts for adults, which are available for purchase. Registration fees are structured by age, with free entry for children aged 12 and under and discounted rates for those aged 18 and under.
