NAMI Sauk Area 5K
The NAMI Sauk Area 5K takes place on July 11, 2026 in Sterling, Illinois at 3807 Woodlawn Road. The event offers both an in-person 5K Run/Walk and a Virtual Run/Walk. Registration opens February 1 and closes July 11; the registration fee is $30.
Bib and swag pickup is scheduled the day before at Sinnissippi Park First Shelter and on race day at the Hoover Park Red Barn. Team registration is available: teams of four receive a five dollar refund per person for adult registrants once the fourth team member has registered. Trophies are awarded to the fastest three teams.
A bag and key check will be available inside the Red Barn; the organizer is not responsible for checked items. Pets are not allowed on the race course during the race and during warm-ups. Strollers are permitted with walkers; runners lead the pack, followed by walkers, then walkers with strollers.
A boxed lunch and water will be provided to participants; the food will be prepared and wrapped by a licensed restaurant kitchen. In case of severe weather, participants are advised to seek shelter in pavilions at Sinnissippi Park or at the Red Barn and Hoover Park.
