MVRRC Shoe4Africa 5K Championship and Kids Races
The Moreno Valley Road Runners Club and Shoe4Africa present a multi-day running event at Lake Perris State Recreation Area on September 12 to 14, 2026. The event uses the Dam Area course at 17801 Lake Perris Drive in Perris, CA.
The course is USATF certified, flat and closed to vehicle traffic, and offers lake views. Professional live chip timing will be used. All participants receive a finisher medal and the first 50 registered entrants receive an event T-shirt. Race day registration is available and fees remain the same on race day.
Distances on the program:
- 5K Championship - overall cash prizes and age group awards
- 1 Mile Championship (Ages 8–12) - age group awards and a special cash bonus
- 300 Meters (Ages 6–7) - age group awards
- 200 Meters (Ages 4–5) - age group awards
- 50 Meters Toddler Dash (Ages 3 and under) - free entry and participation ribbon
Entry fees listed for the events include $20 for the 5K, $5 for the 1 mile and most kids races, and free for the toddler dash. Accepted payment methods include cash, Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle.
Parking and park access: Lake Perris charges a $20 vehicle entrance fee. Dam Area parking is limited; overflow parking is about a 0.5 mile walk to the start area. Participants must complete the full course to be eligible for awards; overall winners are determined by gun time and age group awards by chip time.
