Event overview
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley 5k & 10k takes place on February 7, 2026 at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, VA. Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and the event is chip timed.
Distances and course
- 5k - Out-and-back once.
- 10k - Two out-and-backs.
The route is paved for a majority of the course, with rolling hills and some small gravel sections. The 10k course has three water stations at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65. The 5k has one water station at approximately mile 1.55. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are located inside the museum.
Entry, awards and practical details
Registration fees are listed as: 5k $30 until Jan 15 (then $35) and 10k $45 until Jan 15 (then $50); prices increase by $5 on race morning. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before Jan 28. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall, and 1st and 2nd place in age groups (19 & under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+). Parking is available at the museum (901 Amherst St., Winchester, VA) and a GPS pin is provided: 39.186536, -78.179861.
