Museum of the Shenandoah Valley 5k & 10k
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley hosts a timed road race offering 5 km and 10 km options on February 7, 2027, at the museum grounds in Winchester, Virginia. The course is mostly paved with rolling hills and includes short sections of gravel. The 5k is an out-and-back route once, while the 10k consists of two out-and-back segments. Walkers are welcome and a virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.

Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. There are three water stations on the 10k course at approximately mile markers 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one water station on the 5k at about mile 1.55; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located inside the museum. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered, though shirt sizes for race day registrants cannot be guaranteed.
The event awards the top three men and women overall and age-group awards across standard decades, with top overall finishers not eligible for age-group prizes. The race awards points toward year-long series including the Back of the Pack and the Winter Series. Live results are posted online and final results with series points are published after the event.
