Muscatine Triathlon
The Muscatine Triathlon is a multi-sport event held at Deep Lakes Park in Muscatine, Iowa. This second annual edition features a Sprint Class Triathlon that guides participants through the local scenery and community. The event is open to individual participants and teams of two or three people, provided they maintain a USAT membership.
The competition includes the following distances:
- 750 meter swim
- 12.4 mile bike ride
- 5k run
The course begins with the swim segment, moves into a bike ride through the picturesque areas of Muscatine, and concludes with a run that finishes in the center of the community. In addition to the main triathlon, the event includes Splash-N-Dash races specifically for children. These youth races are divided into two age categories: 5-10 years and 11-15 years.
Recognition is provided for various participants, including an Elite Class prize purse for the top ten male and female finishers, as well as age-group awards. The race weekend also features community activities such as a local farmers market with artisanal goods, a kids' fitness zone, and face painting. An after-party is held at Deep Lakes Park following the conclusion of the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
