Murray Lender Bagel Run
The Murray Lender Bagel Run takes place in Woodbridge, Connecticut, starting from the JCC of Greater New Haven campus. The event features a variety of distances and activities designed for different ages and activity levels. Participants can choose from the following options:
- 5K USATF certified course through residential neighborhoods
- 2 Mile Family Fitness Walk and Run
- 800m Kids Costume Race
The 5K route is a USATF certified course that winds through the residential streets of Woodbridge. For those seeking a shorter distance, a 2 mile walk and run is available, as well as a specialized costume race for children. The event encourages group participation and permits dogs on the course.
On-site amenities include complimentary pre-race and post-race massages, as well as trainer-assisted stretching sessions. Babysitting services are provided during the races for children between the ages of two and eight. Pre-registered participants for the 5K and 2 mile events who complete their registration by specific early dates receive a race t-shirt.
A post-race block party includes a bagel breakfast with cream cheese and various kosher and non-kosher refreshments. All participants receive bagel medals. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as leaders in specific age groups.
