Event overview
The Murray Lender 5K Bagel Run is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026. The event is organized by the JCC of Greater New Haven and is the 15th edition of the race. It offers the following events:
- Kids Costume Race (open to ages 4-10)
- 5K (USATF certified course)
- 2 Mile Family Fitness Walk/Run
Location and course
The event takes place at 360 Amity Road, Woodbridge, CT 06525, on the JCC campus. The 5K course is USA Track & Field certified and runs through residential neighborhoods. The starting line is on the JCC campus near the JCC Day Camps' entrance.
Race day features and services
Pre-registered participants of the 5K and Family Fit Walk who register before September 1, 2026 will receive free race event t-shirts. There is a 20% discount off race day registration fees for registrations completed before August 24, 2026. The JCC provides babysitting services during races and offers on-site babysitting for children ages 2-8. Prizes are awarded to the top three men and women overall and in each age group. The post-race block party includes a sidewalk sale by Woodbridge Running Company, bagel medals for participants, bagels and cream cheese from Katz’s Deli, kosher and non-kosher refreshments, costume encouragement, dogs allowed, and free on-site pre- and post-run massages and trainer-assisted stretching.
