Event details
The event takes place on Sun 15 Mar 2026 in the Lake District, England. It is a BM category fell race held at Muncaster Castle car park, CA18 1RD (grid reference SD097966). The race distance is 15 km / 9.3 miles with a total climb of 620 m (2034 ft). Minimum age is 18. Junior races are not held.
Entry and teams
Entry is on the day only. Fee for entry on the day is £5.00 and payment is cash only. Pre-entry is not available. Teams are allowed with three to count.
Course, records and regulations
The current course differs slightly from the historical route. Recorded course times are 01:29:18 (male, 2024) and 01:48:49 (female, 2016). The race has a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Competitors should note a 60 minute time cut-off at the first river Esk crossing.
