Mulberry Stampede 5K
The Mulberry Stampede is an annual running event held in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The race is hosted at Mulberry Elementary School and follows a course that utilizes the right lane of HWY 18. This lane is closed to traffic during the event using cones, trucks, and patrol vehicles provided by the Mulberry Fire Department and the NC Highway Patrol to ensure the separation of runners from vehicles.
The event features a single distance:
- 5 km
The race uses chip timing to provide live results throughout the course. Participants start and finish at the school grounds, with parking available in a fenced lot adjacent to the school. Race day registration and packet pickup are available on-site before the run begins.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers. Medals are also awarded to the top male and female runners in various age categories, ranging from under 8 to a Grand Masters division for those 60 and older. Half of the event proceeds fund a sports grant, while the remaining half supports future events and youth running initiatives. Amenities at the site include a mobile coffee service and frozen treats for younger participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
