Event
Leatherwood Marathons is an ultrarunning event held at Leatherwood Resort in Ferguson, North Carolina. The course uses private horse-trail that circles the property and includes shaded tree-line sections and overlooks. The event offers multiple distance options and looped routing to reach required mileages. Medals are handmade pottery and each finisher receives a unique piece.

Course and logistics
The route is marked with orange ribbons and yellow arrows. Each 12-mile loop has about 3,050 ft of elevation gain. Total elevation gain by distance: 25K - 3,050 ft, 50K - 6,050 ft, 50 Mile - 12,200 ft, 100 Mile - 24,400 ft. The 100-mile race is run as repeated loops and has a 36-hour cutoff.
There are three aid stations on course: Aid Station Alpha, Aid Station Omega, and Aid Station Wolf Fang. Crews may access Alpha and Omega but not Wolf Fang. Aid stations provide basic food items, water, Tailwind, a variety of sodas, and first aid supplies. BIBs must be worn visibly on the front. Trekking poles are allowed. Dogs and strollers are not allowed on the course. Entry fees are non-refundable if the event is canceled. The event is private and unregistered participants are not permitted.
