Leatherwood Marathons : April 3, 2027
Leatherwood Marathons is a set of ultra-distance trail events held in Ferguson, NC, organized by Dirty Wolf Ultras. The course runs on private trails in the Leatherwood Mountains and includes multiple distance options with substantial elevation gain.
Distances and elevation gains:
- 100 Miles - 106.97 miles; elevation gain 25,145 ft
- 100K - 64.15 miles; elevation gain 15,095 ft
- 50 Miler - 53.15 miles; elevation gain 11,944 ft
- 50K - 32.1 miles; elevation gain 6,989 ft
- 25K - 16.35 miles; elevation gain 3,235 ft
Aid stations are listed as stocked with water, Tailwind, soda, candy, bacon, fruit, pickles, salt, and basic first aid supplies. Finishers receive a handmade pottery medal and all entrants receive race swag. Official results are posted on UltraSignup and photos are released about one week after the event.
Event rules include no dogs, no strollers, no unregistered runners, and a no-refunds policy; deferments are available by request before the event. Registration closes March 30, 2027. The published entry price range is USD 33.50 to 216.50. Camping and cabin accommodations are available near the venue; campground sites offer water, power, and shower facilities, and campsite availability is limited.
