Leatherwood Marathons - April 3, 2027
Leatherwood Marathons is a trail ultra event on private trails in the Leatherwood Mountains, held in Ferguson, NC and hosted by Dirty Wolf Racing. Multiple race distances are offered, and the 100 mile event uses a 36 hour cutoff. Registration closes Tue, Mar 30 at 11:59 PM ET.
The course is looped and marked with orange ribbons and yellow arrows, though signage may become indistinct on later loops. Aid stations supply water, Tailwind, soda, candy, bacon, fruit, pickles, salt, and basic first aid. Results are posted on UltraSignup and photos are released about one week after the event. Finishers receive a handmade pottery medal and event swag.

- 100 Miler - 106.97 miles, 25,145 ft elevation gain
- 100K - 64.15 miles, 15,095 ft elevation gain
- 50 Miler - 53.15 miles, 11,944 ft elevation gain
- 50K - 32.1 miles, 6,989 ft elevation gain
- 25K - 16.35 miles, 3,235 ft elevation gain
Event rules include no dogs, no strollers, no unregistered runners, and no refunds. Deferments are available by request before the event. Nearby accommodations include Leatherwood Mountains Cabins with multiple rustic cabins and Creekside Campground with tent and RV sites, power and water hookups, and shower and bathroom facilities.
