Mudbug Madness 5k takes place on May 23, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana. The event is organized by Sportspectrum and Sportspectrum Race Management and is associated with the Mudbug festival.
The course begins and ends in the southbound lane of Clyde Fant Parkway across from the Sci-Port Discovery Center. The event includes multiple 3.1 mile races: a standard 5k, a 5k Kids Run, and a 5k Wheelchair division.
Registration opens February 24, 2026. Fee tiers are: $25 through May 8, $30 from May 9 through May 22, and $40 on race day. Pre-registered participants receive an official 42nd Anniversary Mudbug Madness race T-shirt; registrants must register by midnight May 13 to guarantee a shirt size. Participants may opt out of a shirt at registration to reduce the fee by $5.
Packet pick-up is available at Sportspectrum on Fern Avenue on May 20–22 with specific weekday hours, and at the race site the morning of the event. No packets will be mailed.
Awards include Sportspectrum gift card prizes for overall adult winners and runners up, age-group awards for adults and youth, and awards for wheelchair division winners. The race bib grants free all-day entry to the Mudbug festival. No bikes, skate devices, or dogs are allowed on course; baby joggers must start in the back.
