Mudbug Madness 5k - Shreveport, LA
Mudbug Madness is a community road event on May 23, 2026, held along Clyde Fant Parkway across from the Sci-Port Discovery Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. The event includes three race categories: a 5K, a 5K Kids Run, and a 5K wheelchair division.
Pre-registration fees are tiered: $25 through May 1, $30 from May 2 to May 22, and $40 on race day. Pre-registered participants receive an official 42nd Anniversary 2026 Mudbug Madness race T-shirt while supplies last; registrants must register by midnight May 13 to guarantee a shirt size. There is an option to deduct $5 if a participant does not want a race shirt.
Packet pick-up is available at Sportspectrum, 6970 Fern Ave., Shreveport, LA, on three days before the event and at the race site on race morning. No packets will be mailed; unclaimed shirts may be given to volunteers.
Awards are given by division. Adult 5K overall winners receive Sportspectrum gift cards and age-group awards are specified for standard adult age brackets. The kids 5K has overall and runner-up awards by youth age groups. The wheelchair division recognizes first overall male and female.
Course rules and policies are stated: no bicycles, skate devices, or dogs on the course; baby joggers must start at the back. Refunds are available on a sliding scale if cancellation occurs more than two weeks before race day, with full refund for cancellations more than 30 days in advance and 50 percent refund between 30 days and two weeks prior.
