Event Details
The Mudbug Madness 5k is a running event scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026. It offers three events: a standard 5k, a 5k Kids Run, and a 5k Wheelchair division. The course starts and finishes on the southbound lane of Clyde Fant Parkway in Shreveport, Louisiana, across from the Sci-Port Discovery Center.
Registration and Packet Pickup
Registration fees increase over time. The base fee is $25 through May 1, rising to $30 from May 2-22, and $40 on race day. An option to decline the race shirt reduces the fee by $5. Packet pickup is available at Sportspectrum on Fern Avenue from May 20-22, and at the race site on the morning of the event. Pre-registered participants receive a commemorative 42nd-anniversary T-shirt, with a registration deadline of May 13 to guarantee size.
Awards and Policies
Awards are given in multiple categories. The adult 5k overall winners receive gift cards, with age group awards spanning from 19-24 to 70+. The kids' 5k and wheelchair division also have overall awards. The event has specific rules: no bikes, skate devices, or dogs are allowed on the course, though baby joggers are permitted if starting at the back. Refund and entry transfer policies are detailed, with full refunds available more than 30 days prior and a $10 fee for transfers completed at least two weeks before race day.
Post-Race Activities
