Lager Jogger 5K & Beer Mile
The Lager Jogger 5K & Beer Mile is an annual running event held at Great Raft Brewing in Shreveport, Louisiana. The event features multiple race formats that combine a standard road race with specialized beer mile competitions. The races are held individually or can be combined for those wishing to participate in both the distance run and the specialty events.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 1 Mile (Individual Beer Mile)
- 1 Mile (2-Person Beer Mile Relay)
- 5K & Individual Beer Mile
- 5K & 2-Person Relay
The 3.1 Miles race is an individual event that follows RRCA regulations. Strollers, wagons, and baby joggers are permitted on the course but must remain at a walking pace. Professional timing is provided, and prizes are awarded to first and second place male and female finishers in age brackets ranging from 18-under to 70+.
The Beer Mile events require all participants to be at least 21 years of age. In the 2-person relay, each team member completes a half-mile and consumes two beers. Registration for any event includes a souvenir pint glass for the first 300 registrants. Shirts are included with specific registration tiers if completed by the guaranteed deadline of May 1st. A post-race gathering at the brewery features live music, food, and beverages.
Packet pickup is available at a local sporting goods store on the Thursday and Friday before the race, or on-site on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
