Mud Mountain Dam Marathon and Half Marathon
The Mud Mountain Dam Marathon and Half Marathon scheduled for September 2026 takes place in Enumclaw and surrounding areas in Washington. The event features two primary distances on fully paved routes without dirt sections or tunnels:
- 26.2 miles
- 13.1 miles
The marathon distance starts at Mud Mountain Dam at an elevation of 1,400 feet. The route follows paved roads through a landscape of farmlands and forests while tracing the Carbon River. This course concludes at the historic McMillin Bridge at an elevation of 200 feet, resulting in a total net elevation loss of approximately 1,200 feet. This event serves as a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
The half marathon begins in the town of South Prairie at an elevation of 467 feet. This course follows the paved Foothills Rail Trail on a gradual downhill trajectory. Participants pass through forested areas and farmland alongside the Carbon River. The half marathon finish is also located at the McMillin Bridge at an elevation of 128 feet, providing a net elevation loss of 339 feet for the distance.
Registration for these races opens in early 2026. Both courses prioritize a paved surface throughout the duration of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
