MTC Pendragon

The MTC Pendragon is a single day ultra run of 46 miles (total route listed as 46.3 miles) returning in 2028 for its second edition. It forms Day 4 of the six day Mount to Coast CYMRUN end to end of Wales and is one of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge series events. The route follows National Cycle Route 8 for almost the entire distance, with a short deviation of about a mile when leaving Llanidloes. The listed start location is the Red Lion Hotel, Llanidloes, and the finish is the River Wye Activity Centre, Glasbury.

Entry is strictly limited (20 race places plus an additional 20 places for CYMRUN competitors). Organisers apply preset cutoffs based on a minimum average pace of 4.0 miles per hour and will withdraw competitors who fall below that standard. All finishers receive a Pendragon medal and male and female champions receive bespoke trophies. The event is cup free; competitors must use their own reusable cup.

Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants and are emailed about four weeks before the race. Competitors are issued tracking devices with SOS function and real time tracking is available during the race. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
