MTC MORAG
The MTC MORAG is a single-day ultra running event over approximately 45 miles. It is Day 7 of the MTC SCOTIA nine day end to end of Scotland. The course includes checkpoints at Knockbain, Dingwall, Invergordon and Scotsburn Road and finishes at the Eagle Hotel, IV25 3SR. The declared start location is Travelodge, Inverness, IV2 7PA.
Organisers limit entry to 20 race competitors plus an additional 20 places for SCOTIA entrants, for a maximum field of 40. The event has preset cut off points based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; competitors falling below this minimum can be withdrawn. Tracking devices with SOS function are provided and real time tracking is available for entrants during the race.
All finishers receive a MORAG medal and male and female champions receive trophies; medals and trophies are currently in the design stage. Entry options include a standard entry fee and a Plus Race Package that includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight high visibility jacket, subject to ordering deadlines. The race is cup free and competitors should bring a reusable cup.
Competitors must be at least 20 years old on race day and carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, a basic first aid kit and an emergency food pack.
