MTC MORAG - Ultra Running
The MTC MORAG is a single-day ultra running event introduced for 2028. The race distance is 45 miles (total listed as 44.8 miles) and it forms Day 7 of the MTC SCOTIA nine day end to end challenge of Scotland.
The organiser limits competitor numbers to 20 paid MTC MORAG entries with an additional allowance of 20 SCOTIA competitors, for a maximum field of 40. Entry fees are stated as £90 for the standard entry and £155 for a race package that includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz race jacket when purchased at least four weeks before the event. All payments and deposits are non refundable; a personal cancellation insurance option is available at checkout and a defer option exists for a fee of £15 up to four weeks before the event.
Start, checkpoint and finish locations and GPX maps are provided to entrants only. The event is cup free so competitors must bring a reusable cup. Tracking devices with SOS functionality are provided to entrants and real time tracking is available during the race. The organisers impose time cutoffs based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; competitors who fall below this threshold may be withdrawn. Mandatory kit is required and includes items such as a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food.
