MTC MORAG
The MTC MORAG is a single-day ultra run scheduled for 2 June 2028. The published race distance is 45 miles (route data lists 44.8 miles) with ascent of 2,543 ft and descent of 2,539 ft. It is presented as Day 7 of the nine-day Mount to Coast SCOTIA end-to-end series.
The route is described with a start in the Inverness area and a finish at the Eagle Hotel (IV25 3SR); published start details list Travelodge, Inverness (IV2 7PA). Organisers provide maps and GPX files to entrants before the event and offer real-time competitor tracking during the race.
Entries are limited to 20 standard competitors plus an additional allowance of 20 competitors from the SCOTIA series (maximum 40). Entry fees are listed as £90 for the race or £155 for the race package that includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz jacket if ordered at least four weeks before the event. All deposits and payments are stated as non-refundable; a personal cancellation insurance option is offered at checkout and a defer option is available for a £15 fee up to four weeks before the race.
The event enforces preset cut-offs based on a minimum average pace of 4.0 mph; competitors warned or withdrawn if they fall below this standard. Mandatory kit requirements include a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. Each competitor receives a tracker with an SOS function. The event is cup-free; competitors should bring a reusable cup. Entrants must be 20 years or over on the start day.
