MTC MORAG
MTC MORAG is a single-day ultra running event on 2 June 2028 and forms Day 7 of the Mount to Coast SCOTIA series. The race distance is 45 miles and the published total distance is 44.8 miles with about 2,543 ft ascent and 2,539 ft descent. The event acts as part of the larger Mount to Coast end to end challenges and is the seventh day in the nine day Scotia sequence.
Competitor numbers are restricted to 20 entries plus an allowance of 20 SCOTIA competitors, giving a maximum field of 40. Organisers apply preset cut-off points based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; athletes who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants only and are emailed to competitors four weeks before the event. The organiser issues tracking devices with SOS functionality so individual progress can be monitored in real time.
Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, a basic first aid kit and emergency food. The race is cup free so runners must bring a reusable cup. Check‑point refreshments are provided and may include malt loaf, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water.
Entries are non refundable. Standard entry fee is £90 and a plus package including a race shirt and hi viz jacket is offered for £155 subject to a deadline for clothing guarantees. All finishers receive a MORAG medal and top male and female finishers receive trophies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
