Event
The MTC MORAG is a single-day ultra running event held on 2 June 2028. It forms Day 7 of the MTC SCOTIA nine-day end-to-end challenge of Scotland. The route distance is listed as 44.8 miles. All finishers receive a bespoke MORAG medal; male and female champions also receive trophies. The event is a Cup-Free race, so competitors must bring their own reusable cup. Entry fees are shown as £90.00 for the standard entry and £155.00 for the Plus Race Package, which includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi-viz jacket when ordered at least four weeks before the event.
Route and logistics
The race is point-to-point in Scotland with multiple pre-determined check points along the route. Competitor numbers are limited to 20, with an additional allowance of 20 for SCOTIA participants, giving a maximum of 40 starters. Maps and GPX files are provided only to entrants and are emailed approximately four weeks before the race. Organisers provide tracking devices with SOS functionality for competitors.
Rules, kit and cut-offs
Entrants must be 20 years or over on the start day. The event enforces preset cut-off times based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; competitors who fall below this requirement may be given warnings and can be withdrawn. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first-aid and emergency food.
