MTC Merry Maidens
The MTC Merry Maidens is a single day ultra event held on 22 July 2029. The course runs from Premier Inn, Truro to Lands End Hotel and follows the same route used by the organiser’s JOGLE event, with reduced daily distance. The published distance is approximately 34.5 miles and the route includes about 2,724 ft of ascent and 2,835 ft of descent.
This race is also Day 13 of the Mount to Coast ALBION thirteen day end to end of England series, so Merry Maidens competitors may be running alongside ALBION participants. Entrant numbers are limited to 20, with an additional allowance of 20 for ALBION competitors giving a maximum of 40 starters. All entrants must be at least 20 years old.
The event enforces minimum average pace cut-offs. Cut-off times are based on a 4.0 mph minimum average; competitors who fall below this requirement will be warned and may be withdrawn. Organisers provide tracking devices with SOS buttons and send route maps and GPX files to entrants four weeks before the race. The event is cup free so competitors should bring a reusable cup.
All finishers receive a Merry Maidens medal; male and female champions receive trophies. Entry fees are non refundable; competitors may add optional personal cancellation insurance at checkout. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food.
