MTC Blue Caps
The MTC Blue Caps is a single day ultra event forming Day 4 of the MTC Albion thirteen day end to end of England. The route follows the same course used for the MTC JOGLE but with reduced daily distances and is listed at approximately 35.5 miles. The course starts at Premier Inn Wigan North and finishes at The Swan at Tarporley. All finishers receive a Blue Caps medal; male and female champions receive bespoke trophies. Entrants may upgrade at checkout to include an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi‑viz race jacket.
Competitor numbers are limited to 20, with an additional allowance of 20 Albion competitors for a maximum of 40. The event enforces preset cut‑off times based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; falling below this threshold can lead to withdrawal. Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants approximately four weeks before the event and tracking devices with SOS functionality are issued for real‑time monitoring. The race is cup free so competitors must bring a reusable cup.
Mandatory kit requirements include a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps as provided, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone and a basic first aid kit. Entry fees are non refundable; an optional personal cancellation insurance policy can be added at checkout and a defer option is available under specified conditions.
