MTC Bertram de Shotts
The MTC Bertram de Shotts is a one day ultra held on 31 May 2028 and listed at about 43 miles (route total shown as 42.6 miles). It forms Day 5 of the nine day MTC SCOTIA end to end series and is presented as the first edition of this event.
The route runs from Pitlochry to Kingussie and includes prearranged check points with preset cut off times based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this threshold can be warned and, if not improved, withdrawn. Competitor numbers are limited to 20 standard entries plus an allowance of 20 SCOTIA entrants, giving a maximum field of 40.
All finishers receive a bespoke Bertram de Shotts medal and male and female champions receive trophies. Entry options include a standard fee and a plus race package that adds an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi‑viz race jacket when purchased at least four weeks before the event. All payments are non refundable; entrants may add personal cancellation insurance at checkout.
Maps and GPX files are reserved for entrants and are emailed approximately four weeks before the race. Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food.
