Course and logistics

The route follows old drove roads and ancient tracks associated with the Caterans. The final section includes a climb to An Lairig Pass with a view down to the finish at Gulabin Lodge.

Cut-off points are set during the race, including a Blairgowrie cut-off and a strict Enochdu cut-off after which runners will not be allowed to continue onto the open hill section. The race is designed to be self-sufficient; support crews and road-following vehicles are not permitted.

Mandatory kit will be required and spot-checked. Examples listed by the organiser include a full-size foil blanket, a working mobile phone and a means to carry at least 1 litre of water. Other race rules include no transfer of places, no muling, no walking poles, and no dogs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
