MTC August Aquathlon
The MTC August Aquathlon is part of a series of five races organized by the Manchester Triathlon Club. These mid-week events take place on Tuesday evenings at Sale Water Park. The venue is situated at the Trafford Water Sports Centre, which provides a dedicated environment for multi-sport activities.
The event features two distinct distance categories based on age groups:
- Adults and participants aged 15+ complete an 800m swim followed by a 5km run.
- TriStar 3 and Youths complete a 400m swim followed by a 2.5km run.
The course is designed for simplicity, consisting of a two-lap format for both the swim and the run portions. Adult participants complete two laps of an 800m swim course and two laps of a 5km run course. Junior competitors cover half of these distances.
The venue is accessible for those traveling by car or public transport. Parking is located outside the boathouse restaurant at Sale Water Park (M33 2LX). Additionally, the site is a short walk from the Sale Water Park Metrolink stop. Participants who are not members of a British Triathlon Home Nation are required to purchase a Race Pass for the event.
