Chip Chase
The Chip Chase is scheduled for 9 August 2026 and takes place from the Cross Keys Inn, Uppermill, Saddleworth OL3 6LW. Entries open on 28 January 2026 and close on 6 August 2026. Entry is via SiEntries and entry on the day is available subject to capacity. Entry fees are FRA member £8.00 and non member £10.00. Minimum age is 18 years.
This is a BS Fell Race of 10 km / 6.2 miles with approximately 400 m / 1 312 ft of ascent, held on hills in the Peak District overlooking Manchester. The route is fully flagged and marshalled, follows paths, and includes one steep climb. The race headquarters is at the Cross Keys pub in Uppermill. Participants are asked to park on Church Road or Church Lane rather than in the pub car park. The race start is about a ten minute walk from the pub; timing devices and race numbers are collected on arrival.
The entry fee includes a chip butty at the finish; drinks are not included. Runners who retire should tell a marshal and report to headquarters, returning their timing device. Kit checks will be carried out; required items include a waterproof top with a hood and taped seams and a fully charged mobile phone. Water and food are left to the runner's discretion and any additional kit requirements will be advised on the day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
