The Chip Chase is a fell race held in the Peak District, featuring a route that traverses hills with views overlooking Manchester. Participant Requirements and Logistics

Runners must be 18 years of age or older on the day of the event. While the course follows paths, participants are required to carry a waterproof top with an attached hood and a fully charged mobile phone. Mandatory reporting procedures are in place for any runner who chooses to retire from the race before reaching the finish.

Event headquarters provides facilities for number collection and timing device distribution. Parking is available on Church Road or Church Lane, as the pub car park remains restricted. The race start line is located approximately a 10-minute walk from the headquarters. Post-race activities include a serving of chips for all participants, with the cost included in the entry fee.

Recognition and Categories

A prize giving ceremony is held at the race headquarters following the event. Awards are presented to the first three male and female finishers, as well as winners in the Under 23 category. Veteran categories (V40) are recognised in five-year increments. A team prize is also awarded to the top four runners from a single club.
