MT Hearts Memorial 5K
The MT Hearts Memorial event takes place on June 19, 2027 at Citrus High School in Inverness, Florida. It is the inaugural edition held in memory of a longtime Citrus County resident who died from metastatic breast cancer on June 11, 2026.
Event formats include the following distances:
- 5K Run : 3.1 miles
- 1 Mile Walk
- Virtual 5K and 1 Mile Participant A Kids Fun Run is also offered and is free.
Registration opens September 18, 2026 and closes June 16, 2027. The registration fee listed for in-person and virtual options is $30. Every registered participant receives an official event shirt and a custom finisher medal. Virtual registrants will have their shirt, bib number, and finisher medal mailed after the event.
Proceeds from the event support metastatic breast cancer research through METAvivor and provide assistance to students and families at Hernando Elementary School. The MT Hearts Memorial Foundation was created in memory of the local resident and directs event proceeds toward research and community support.
