MRT 2026 5k
The MRT 2026 5k is a 5 kilometre race held at the Statesville Soccer Complex, 2012 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625. The event includes separate adult and youth 5 kilometre races and is open to general participation.
The race is part of the 2026 Championship Series, a multi-race season comprising 20 races. Competitors earn points at each race toward the series championship. Eligibility for the series championship requires participation in at least 12 of the 20 races. One additional point is awarded for each race completed beyond 12. Competitors who run all 20 races receive five extra points and a free race entry for 2027.
Awards are presented nightly for overall and masters places and for five-year age groups. Points for finishing positions are allocated as follows: Overall 1st 12 points, Overall 2nd 10 points, Overall 3rd 9 points; Masters 1st 8 points, Masters 2nd 7 points, Masters 3rd 6 points; Age Group 1st 5 points, Age Group 2nd 4 points, Age Group 3rd 3 points. All other participants receive 2 points.
Prize money is listed for the top five male and female championship winners with specified amounts per place. Dogs are not allowed at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
