Moylussa
Moylussa is a mountain running event in County Clare with long and short course options. The longer route gains 536 m of climb and turns around at the Moylussa summit. The route surface is a mixture of narrow single track, wider fire road, sleepers and narrow forest trail.
Distances:
- 10.70 km route, 536 m climb, summit turnaround.
- 4.40 km short course, separate junior start.
The event carries an IMRA difficulty rating of 7 (2,3,2) and allows GPS devices. Course marking is limited to only major junctions. Mandatory kit is Level B standard and includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with the emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag or equivalent. The exact kit to be carried during the race will be finalised on the day and advised at registration. Runners should be able to carry all required items and may be subject to random kit checks; failure to have required items may lead to denial of entry or disqualification.
The event is part of the Munster Championship. The race start location is Ballycuggaran Woods and parking is available at Twomilegate. Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s.
