Moylussa is a mountain running event held in County Clare, forming part of the Munster Championship. The course includes a long and a short option with a summit turnaround at Moylussa.
The route surface is a mixture of narrow single track, wider fire road, sleepers and narrow forest trail. Only major junctions are marked and GPS use is allowed. Total climb for the long course is 536 metres.
Distances:
- 10.70 km long course
- 4.40 km short course (junior distance)
Event difficulty is classified as 7 (2,3,2), reflecting moderate terrain and more than 500 metres of ascent over the longer route. Mandatory kit is Level A basic; at minimum runners must carry a showerproof, windproof jacket. The required kit to be carried during the race may be finalised at registration depending on conditions. Runners should have the means to carry the kit if requested.
Parking is provided at Twomilegate and the race start is at Ballycuggaran Woods. Failure to have the required items may result in denied entry or disqualification; random kit checks may be carried out. Volunteers are used for event support and non-running volunteer roles contribute to end-of-year prize qualifications. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
