About the race
The Limerick Night Run takes place in Limerick city on October 29, 2026. The event is a city centre night race of 5 km on closed roads, run mainly on tarmac and described as flat and fast. The route passes Nicholas Street, Patrick Street, O'Connell Street, The Crescent, O'Connell Avenue and Punches Cross, and both the start and the finish are at King Johns Castle plaza.
The event is limited to 2000 runners and uses chip timing for official results. Every finisher receives a custom Halloween themed medal. The finish area at King Johns Castle is floodlit and features a DJ set and live music as part of a post race gathering. There are refreshments and medal collection at the finish, water stations on course, bag drop at check in, and fully marshalled closed roads.
Participation is open to ages 16 and older. Fancy dress is optional and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Practical arrival options include walking from the city centre, a 15 to 20 minute walk from Limerick Colbert train station, and nearby bus stops at Thomond Bridge and Bridge Street. Nearby parking options include Arthurs Quay car park and a designated castle visitors car park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
