Mountain View Race for Education 5k : May 1, 2027
This event in Haymarket, Virginia offers a chip timed 5k and a 1 mile fun run. It serves as a PTO fundraiser to raise funds for educational resources and enrichment programs for Mountain View students. Points earned at the race count toward the Year‑Long 5k and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Spring Series.
Runners receive an event shirt with sizes guaranteed for registrations made by April 4. Final race results and series points are posted the Monday after the event; live results will be available during the race on a timing service and via a QR code at the course.
Two water stations are positioned along the 5k course at about mile 0.5 and mile 2.4, with Gatorade available at some stations. Packet pickup is offered on April 30 from 5 to 7 pm at 14675 Piedmont Vista Dr., Haymarket, VA, and also the morning of the event. Race day registration is available, though shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for those who register that day.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the first male and female in each age category: 5 and under; 6–9; 10–14; 15–17; 18–29; and 30 and over. The organizer posts event photos after the race and may adjust plans for weather as needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
