Mountain View Race for Education 5k
The Mountain View Race for Education is held May 2 at Piedmont Athletic Club in Haymarket, VA. The event offers a chip timed 5k and a 1 mile fun run and serves as a fundraiser for Mountain View ES PTO, with raised funds allocated for educational resources and enrichment programs for Mountain View students.

Points from this event count toward the Year Long 5k and Back of the Pack Series and also count toward the Spring Series. Registered runners receive an event shirt with sizes guaranteed for registrations completed by April 4. Final race results with series points are posted to the organizer website on the Monday following the race, and live results are available on Athlinks during the event.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at 14675 Piedmont Vista Dr and on the morning of the event. Race day registration is offered; shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants. The 5k course includes two water stations at approximately mile markers 0.5 and 2.4, with Gatorade available at some stations.
Awards are presented for the top three men and women overall and for first through third in these categories: 18 and over, age 10 to 17, and 9 and under. Photos taken by staff are posted on the event social media page by the Tuesday after the event. A social media challenge highlights a favorite race photo each Tuesday and awards a discount for a future race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
