Mountain Sheep Canyon Run : Overview

The Mountain Sheep Canyon Run takes place in Page, AZ on Saturday, Apr 11, 2026. The event is held on Navajo Nation land but follows local Page, AZ time (the same as Phoenix, AZ). Registration closes on Sun, Apr 5 at 11:59 PM MT. Bib pickup is at the start line on 4/10/2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on race morning from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

Courses and logistics

10 Mile
5K

The 10 Mile course is a loop through Navajo Nation sand and slot canyons of Mountain Sheep Canyon near Antelope Canyon. It starts on double track, moves to single track through washes, follows ridges on dune and under mesa baseline, and includes a scramble down into a slot before a downhill wash return to the start/finish. The course lists an ascent of 850 feet and a descent of 850 feet and is rated medium-hard. There are four hydration stations supplying water and Tailwind Nutrition; one aid station provides some snacks and food. The 10 Mile is a cupless race; runners must carry their own water bottle or pack because no disposable cups will be provided.

The 5K is a lollipop-style loop beginning on sand double track, into a wash and a slot called Owl Canyon, then back to the double track to finish. It is rated easy to easy-medium and has one water station at the halfway wash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
