About the race
The Mountain Peacock 50k is a third annual trail event held in Golden, Colorado on November 15, 2026. The course covers approximately 50K across multiple mountain loops that start and finish at Parfet Park.
The route asks participants to complete laps that ascend four named peaks: South Table Mountain, North Table Mountain, Mount Galbraith and Lookout Mountain. Parfet Park serves as the central hub and sole aid station for the event.
This is a self-supported, low‑fee "fat ass" style event with minimal course markings and no chip timing. Checkpoints are inspired by old‑school formats: a book is placed at each summit and participants tear out a page as proof of reaching that summit. Organizers request registration in advance to plan shared food and logistics.
Participants are expected to carry required personal items. The organizer lists a gallon of water, a snack to share at the aid station, and navigation tools such as a map, compass, or GPS. The event follows Leave No Trace principles and emphasizes self‑support and preparedness for changing mountain weather.
