Mountain Man Triathlon Sprint & Olympic
Mountain Man Triathlon began in 1984 and is one of the longest standing triathlons in the West. The event takes place at Lake Mary in Flagstaff, United States, and features scenic views of the San Francisco Peaks and Mormon Lake. Flagstaff's summer weather is described as cool, clean, and green with flora in full bloom.
The event offers two distance categories:
- Sprint triathlon
- Olympic triathlon
All finishers receive medals and t-shirts. Organizers also provide awards and food on race day. Timing is handled with RFID equipment; each participant must wear a timing chip around the ankle with the supplied Velcro strap. The chips are reusable and must be returned after the event. Missing chips are the responsibility of the athlete and may incur a charge.
The race is organized by 4 Peaks Racing and aims to present a course with notable natural scenery. The description of the course highlights views of local lakes and surrounding peaks and characterizes the event as having a local, hometown atmosphere.
