Mother's Day Fun Run at Alluvial & Prairie Moon
The Iowa Brewery Running Series organizes a 5k-ish fun run held at Alluvial Brewing Company and Prairie Moon Winery in Ames. The event takes place on Mother's Day and features a course that highlights the local winery and surrounding rolling hills. This is an untimed event where participants are welcome to run, walk, or jog at their own pace.
The course is an open route, meaning it takes place on public roads. Participants are responsible for obeying all traffic laws and remaining aware of their surroundings during the run. The starting and finishing points are located at the taproom and winery areas, which are connected by a shared parking lot.
Registration for the event includes several items for participants:
- 5 km (approximate distance)
- One craft beverage from Alluvial Brewing Co or Prairie Moon Winery
- A collector's pint glass or a series swag item
- Access to on-site festivities including live music and food trucks
The event is open to all ages, though participants must be 21 or older with a valid ID to consume alcoholic beverages. Underage participants receive a token for a non-alcoholic drink. The run takes place rain or shine, and because the event capacity is limited to the size of the taproom, registration is required.
