Mother's Day 5K Fun Run at Alluvial Brewing and Prairie Moon Winery
The event is a community fun run hosted by the Iowa Brewery Running Series at Alluvial Brewing Company and Prairie Moon Winery in Ames, Iowa. The course is approximately 5K-ish and starts and ends at each taproom; the two locations are connected by a shared parking lot. The run is untimed and open to walkers, joggers, and runners of all ages.
The event takes place on public roads as an open course, so participants are responsible for obeying traffic laws and being aware of their surroundings. Registration includes one beverage choice from Alluvial Brewing Co or Prairie Moon Winery, plus a collector's pint glass or another Brewery Running Series swag item. Attendees also have access to live music, food trucks, and games provided by partners and sponsors.
Participants who are under 21 will receive a token for a non-alcoholic beverage; a valid ID is required to receive alcoholic beverages. The event is scheduled for Mother’s Day, May 10, and will run rain or shine. Registration is limited to the capacity of the taproom, and refunds are available up to seven days before the event. A portion of proceeds will support a local nonprofit; the Brewery Running Series reports over $700,000 raised across all states to date.
