16th Annual Mother's Day 5k
The Mother's Day 5k takes place at the Woodside Cemetery and Arboretum in Middletown, Ohio. This event features a flat course on paved trails that pass through a historic arboretum landscape. Proceeds from the registration fees support Hospice Care of Middletown.
The event offers several participation options:
- 3.1 Miles: A chip-timed competitive run for various age categories.
- 3.1 Miles: A chip-timed competitive race walk where participants must only walk.
- 1 Mile or 5k: A recreational walk that is not timed.
Parking for participants is located across the street at Rosa Parks Elementary School and Barnitz Stadium. The venue has specific regulations, including a rule that dogs are not permitted within the cemetery grounds.
Awards are presented to the top finishers in the timed events. For the running category, recognition is given to the overall male and female winners, alongside the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 12 and under to 80 and over. The competitive walking category recognizes the top three male and female participants overall and winners in specific age brackets.
